That starts with brand communications strategy, a role we lead with the majority of our clients. We solve business challenges and opportunities by connecting insights to ideas, developing positioning and messaging strategies that impact consumers in their natural habitat.

From there, the creative storytelling process begins. Whether it’s a 30-second Super Bowl spot, a 30-minute branded documentary, a 360-degree experiential app, or a B2B partnership program, we find the hook and the heart of each brand’s story.

We specialize in advertising, digital strategy and content development, proudly working with some of the largest and smallest brands in the world.

Regionally, Cannonball has served as the ad agency for a variety of Missouri-based brands, including Farmland and Vanguard/M.O.S.T. – Missouri’s 529 College Savings Plan.

At Cannonball, we are “doers.” Our three agency principals still work daily as Account Director, Copywriter and Art Director, and our 60+ team members follow their lead. That commitment to doing the work shows in how we service – and execute – for our clients. It should be no surprise that the average tenure of our clients is over 10 years.

A creative team tackles the project armed with insights and constant curiosity. Ideas are revised, eliminated and improved. Multi-team stakeholders provide strategic alignment and reality checks. Sometimes we conduct internal focus groups.

After ideas are presented and approved, we work with world-class production partners to bring the idea to life. We get the details right, meet our deadlines, and keep costs accountable.

Cannonball is the creative agency of record for National (part of the Enterprise family). Our work for the Control Enthusiast campaign won the 2017 “Best of Show” ADDY, in competition against other St. Louis advertising agencies. It went on to win regional honors and compete at the national level.

Steve is an agency veteran with nearly 30 years experience as Copywriter and Creative Director. Steve has created award-winning work for large and small clients alike, including Budweiser, Bud Light, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental, Coca-Cola, Upper Deck and more. Prior to Cannonball, Steve served as Global Creative Director for Momentum Worldwide.

Stacey currently leads strategy work and loves digging deep into the issues and opportunities of Cannonball’s clients, such as Enterprise Holdings Inc., Bayer Advanced, SeaWorld and Pinnacle Entertainment. She also maintains valued relationships with researchers and industry thought leaders. Stacey entered the industry through the performance improvement business at Maritz where she first learned about how to change consumer behavior. Following that, she transitioned to the branding and advertising business at Louis London / Momentum, where she became Executive Vice President North America, responsible for wrangling the St. Louis, Detroit and Milwaukee offices. Stacey worked closely with large and small clients, including Minute Maid, Microsoft, American Express and Edward Jones.

Through his award-winning career as an Art Director and Creative Director, Mike has managed creative for clients of all shapes and sizes, including Anheuser- Busch InBev, Coca-Cola, General Motors, Scottrade and more. He’s also developed branding and special event materials for Mt. Sinai Hospital in Milwaukee. Prior to Cannonball, Mike spent parts of his career at St. Louis ad agency offices of Fleishman Hillard and Momentum Worldwide.

Since the beginning, we’ve maintained our business and employee base at a steady rate. We pride ourselves on being fiscally responsible as business owners and business managers. We have been a 100% self-funded entity from day one and still maintain this position. Our management team and management structure has remained constant.

There have been no acquisitions, mergers or changes in ownership in the company’s history.

Our suite of services continues to expand in the areas of content, digital and social media marketing to meet the increasing demands of a digitally-engaged world.

Because we become a valuable and productive extension of our clients’ marketing teams, we have a strong history of organic growth with existing clients.

Since 2009, we’ve seen 694% growth with our Bayer client, 316% growth with Enterprise/National/Alamo, 56% growth with SeaWorld/Busch Gardens, and 53% growth with Pinnacle Entertainment.

New business typically comes by word-of-mouth referrals. We’ve learned that our best means of self-promotion are deeply satisfied clients and an understanding that we are only as good as the last work that went out the door.
