Media Director

Job Description


Cannonball is seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Media Director to lead media strategy and brand promotion efforts across all channels for our clients.

This senior-level role is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing media campaigns; managing budgets; analyzing performance; and leading a team of professionals. The ideal candidate is agile, proactive, and brings a strong understanding of performance media. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining the processes and systems that drive best-in-class media outcomes for our clients. Success in this role requires a process-oriented mindset, the ability to lead cross-functional teams, and a talent for building strong vendor and client partnerships. The right candidate will be a polished communicator, active listener, and solutions-focused problem solver.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development: Create and implement media plans aligned with client goals.
  • Channel Optimization: Identify the most effective media platforms across digital, print, TV, and social.
  • Budget Oversight: Manage media budgets across clients, ensuring efficiency and strong ROI.
  • Campaign Execution: Oversee media buys, content development, and ad placement.
  • Performance Analysis: Track and analyze media performance; optimize based on insights.
  • Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts and build strong vendor relationships.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal teams and clients to ensure integrated campaign delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and support a growing internal media team composed of three buyers, a front-end developer and analyst support.
  • Trend Monitoring: Stay current on industry trends and best practices.
  • Travel: As needed to support clients and project execution.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • At least 5 years of media planning experience


Preferred Experience:

  • Prior leadership of a multi-person media team
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience presenting to clients, both virtually and in-person
  • Proven ability to manage vendor and partner relationships
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with video conferencing and presentation tools
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
